Cutting and trimming
Being
new to miniatures, I was first surprised
with the lack of instructions on the kit. Coming from a hobby that
deals with several dozens of parts. The only reference here is the box
picture and online pictures of the completed models. At first I had
no clue where the sprue ends and the part begins and which is and which isn't flash. So, I recommend you
first study the models to make sure you're cutting the right part
off.
Note:
A sprue is the passage through which liquid material is introduced into a mold. During casting or molding,
the material in the sprue will solidify and need to be removed from the
finished part. This excess material is also called a sprue. [source: Wikipedia.org]
Flash, also known as flashing, is excess material attached to a molded, forged, or cast
product, which must usually be removed. This is typically caused by
leakage of the material between the two surfaces of a mold (beginning
along the parting line where the 2 molds join) or between the base material and the mold (in the case of overmolding). [source: Wikipedia.org]
Using the edge pliers. I cut the parts from the sprue and remove the flash.
Then, following the instructions for the super glue, glue the pieces one at a time. And wait until each piece is fully set before joining the next part. Here, I've placed them on a binder clip.
